This website gives the village we live in the opportunity to look briefly into the lives of our local schools and offer a helping hand, whether it be addressing inequality or enriching children’s lives.

Cat Rescue Christchurch Charitable Trust #CC37699

Cat Rescue Christchurch Charitable Trust is located in Christchurch, New Zealand, and focuses on reducing stray cat overpopulation by using the trap, neuter, return (TNR) method. Stray kittens who are under 8 weeks of age are socialised, desexed and rehomed.

Cat Rescue Christchurch also promotes the desexing of companion and stray cats whom people are feeding, and the early desexing of kittens before being rehomed from any adoption facility.

Cat Rescue Christchurch relies on donations from generous people to fund its work. We do not have a shelter but instead have volunteers who foster and socialise our cats and kittens in their own homes until they are ready for their forever homes.

Over 6100 cats have been desexed or rescued and rehomed by Cat Rescue Christchurch since our organisation was founded in 2006, preventing many thousands more unwanted cats from being born.

Ignite Sport Trust

Ignite Sport is a youth development organisation offering a unique delivery style. Using sport and recreation to engage, Ignite Sport encourages young people to consider character, values, balance and heart.

Ignite Sport mentors 900+ young people annually on youth development or sports academy programmes, using recreational activities to reinforce important life skills.

We have a proud history and have many years’ experience in youth development work, academy-based camps and programmes for young athletes.

We work with Years 7-13 in over 10 schools in the Wellington/Kapiti region and with refugee youth on programmes that engage and empower young people to be more socially and personally responsible in all aspects of their lives, set goals and to reach their full potential.

For some programmes and other areas of our work we partner with organisations such as the New Zealand Red Cross, Hutt City Council, and Wellington City Council.

We also run several annual events including sports tournaments and inspirational workshops, partner with people who help out at a local sporting level, as well as being involved with activities at several community events throughout the year.

Breast Cancer Support Northland Trust #CC31788

We are a local independent charitable trust formed by Breast Cancer survivors offering practical and emotional support to people diagnosed with Breast Cancer living in the Northland region.

We provide :

• Specially trained visitors who have themselves recovered from Breast Cancer
• An opportunity to speak with others who have been in a similar position
• Information on activities and services available

One in five New Zealanders is living with a disability. That means approximately 150,000 young people with disabilities are facing considerable barriers in their lives. StarJam believes this is something that can be changed. Through music and performance workshops, StarJam reaches many of these young New Zealanders and provides opportunities for them to explore their talents, gain new skills and build confidence to try new things. Over the years, StarJam’s impact on Jammers (our young people) and their families has been phenomenal – inspiring self-belief and a sense of belonging, often for the very first time, resulting in a new zest for life and hope for the future. For many, StarJam has been a life-transforming experience.
