Child Matters is New Zealand’s only national charitable trust dedicated to the prevention of child abuse. Since 1994, we have been advocating for the rights of children and educating and inspiring New Zealanders to make sure that every child flourishes in a safe, stable and nurturing environment.
Child Matters works throughout New Zealand, educating, supporting and inspiring adults to protect children.
We do this by:
- Raising understanding and awareness of the issue of child abuse.
- Providing knowledge, skills and confidence to those who are in a position to act to protect children
- Influencing a change in society’s attitudes toward child abuse and
- Engaging communities to make the wellbeing of children a priority
2. Osteoporosis New Zealand Trust #CC43137
Osteoporosis NZ is the only national organisation in New Zealand specifically committed to improving the lives of people living with osteoporosis, and preventing the fractures it causes.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of our establishment on World Osteoporosis Day in 1999.
Our Vision, Mission and Goals illustrate why Osteoporosis NZ exists, and how we intend to ensure that osteoporosis care in New Zealand becomes world leading within this decade.
Our vision
Better bones and fewer fractures for New Zealanders.
Our mission
To engage with the public, health professionals, policymakers and the private sector, through programmes of awareness, advocacy and education, to prevent fractures caused by osteoporosis
3. Toy Library Federation of New Zealand #CC44320
The Toy Library Federation of NZ is the national body to which individual toy libraries belong. We act as a support to new and existing not-for-profit toy libraries; offering information and support on all aspects of running a toy library, toy selection and the value of play.
Toy Libraries offer a range of quality toys, puzzles, games and learning activities for members to hire for a set period of time. In NZ our toy libraries mainly cater for children 0-8 years. Many libraries also stock games, puzzles, sport, musical and other play items suitable for the entire family. Some therapeutic toy libraries such as those run by CCS focus on children with special needs. Toy Libraries are run by a group of volunteers for the benefit of children in your community.
