FAQ

Please contact us if you still have a query after reading the FAQ’s below.

My credit card has expired, what do I do next?
It’s time to change to Automatic Payment because we can’t take credit card anymore.

Are donations to 4good tax deductible?
All donations over $5 are tax deductible within NZ. At the end of each financial year we will distribute a tax receipt to each subscriber summarising all donations made to 4good during that financial year – for example, a subscriber that has made 12 monthly donations of $4 will receive a tax receipt totaling $48.

How do you select the charities?
Please refer to our charity selection process

How do I stop my donations once I’ve subscribed?
You can cancel your Automatic Payment yourself (we’d appreciate a quick email to let us know too).

Can I donate by Credit Card?
No, sorry, not anymore. Automatic Payment is the only option. In December 2012 we had to remove our Credit Card facility because we were going to have to start paying fees, and we wanted funds going to awesome New Zealand charities, not to banks via fees!

Do you issue receipts?
At the end of each financial year we will distribute a tax receipt to each subscriber summarising all donations made to 4good during that financial year – for example, a subscriber that has made 12 monthly donations of $4 will receive a tax receipt totaling $48.

Is 4good a registered charity?
Yes. Our Charities Commission number is CC46762.

Why is the total number of subscribers on your home page not the same as the dollar amount being donated each month?
The tally on the home page and the amount donated often differ for a number of reasons; cancelled automatic payments, failed transactions, expired credit cards and people opting to pay $8 / $16 / $32 per month instead of the standard $4.
